At the start of my street style career I worked on a personal project shooting street style images of teenagers - I was interested in their fashion sense and how popular culture influenced their style.
The more the project developed the more I relalised I was taking portraits rather than street style images. I became aware of their vulnerabilities, the way they posed - their expressions were particularly revealing. I was also interested in how Fashion plays a role in these developmental years.
The project started in Cambridge - it is the city I grew up in and the city I lived in. The advantage of shooting in a small city also enabled me to capture an authentic, everyday living attitude towards fashion.
The image below was taken in 2012.
